Royal Icing Cupcakes

I have been trying to make the royal icing for those little cupcakes. You can either make it with meringue powder or fresh eggs white. I chose to use the pasteurized eggs white to avoid food poisoning. Pasteurized eggs are not so common in Malaysia, but you can get those eggs in Jusco or Cold storage.

The Royal icing is really light & suitable for adults who do not like greasy butter cream icing. It has a glossy looks which is quite appealing. The end result is very satisfying. Simple.

I have this very versatile recipe "Special Chocolate Banana" which is suitable for cupcakes or cakes. I tried a few simple decoration style with the chocolate frosting & it turn out quite nice. Of course, the cakes is quite rustic since it is a homemade cake.

My dotter favorite choice are .....of cuz those 2 cupcakes with the yellow & red flowers. She even told me she prefer the pink flowers. Yeah...now i recall all her girl friends in the kindergarden...LOVE pink. Personally, I prefer the topping with toasted almond.

Fried pasta with SEKINCHAN seafood

Last month, we went to Sekinchan (near Kuala Selangor) & my friend who happen to be a local in Sekinchan persuaded me to buy some seafood.

Initially, I never thought of buying anything especially seafood. But, I can tell you that I didn't regret it.

The seafood is absolutely one of the best in Malaysia. By showing this simple fried spaghetti with just the sotong (of course from Sekinchan), it is sooooooo savory & delicious. I don't need to use any chicken stocks granuales in this fried spagetti. But it taste damn good. Sometimes, the best raw material shall be cooked in the most simplest way. I can totally agreed on that.

Mosquitoes Plant & Basil

I am quite proud of this mosquitoes plant because we successful plant it in our condominium though sunlight is not so sufficient. However, It grows like a bush.
We got it during our trip to Cameron Highland last year. It is a nature mosquitoes repelling plant. It is quite effective to chase those mozzi away & of course environmental friendly. Besides that, it save us some $ .

By the way, we are replanting the Thai basil. For certain culinary herbs, we need to replant it. The aroma of the young Thai basil is more concentrate compared to the old one. We are please that the "baby" plants grow well. My daughter name it "baby" plants....heheheh...

The old sweet basil (for pasta) is growing well, so, we leave it alone at this moment.

Due to the balcony is almost out of place for me to plant more herds..sob......you can see how i utilize the limited space from the below pictures...
